Quick intro: Whether on your phone or at the recorder, these steps cover the most common camera questions.
Yes—use the manufacturer’s or BBC-recommended app for your NVR/DVR. Sign in and select Live View.
• Confirm the correct account and current app version.
• Check internet on site (recorder) and on your phone.
• After router/ISP changes, remote access settings may need an update—reach out.
Open Playback, select date/time and camera(s), then play. Use the timeline/calendar to jump quickly.
From the NVR or app:
• Go to Export/Download, set the time range, pick camera(s), export to USB or local storage.
• Some systems export proprietary formats—export the player too, or convert to MP4 if supported.
• Use the app’s Forgot Password.
• For NVR admin resets, steps vary by brand; often requires local access and ownership verification. We can assist once we verify the account.
• Cameras: printed on the body label; also in the NVR’s Device List.
• NVR/DVR: rear/underside label or System → Info.
• Aim/tilt tweaks are fine if reachable and safe.
• Relocation (new hole, cabling, sealing) is a service visit; we’ll also refocus and set exposure afterward.
• Check the monitor input (HDMI/VGA).
• PoE: look for link lights on NVR ports.
• Coax: verify power supply and BNC connections.
If multiple cameras are out, suspect power or network—call us.
• Ensure current app version and correct account.
• Test on local Wi-Fi vs. cellular; if local works but remote doesn’t, we’ll adjust remote access.
Most systems let you drag to reorder or save Favorites/Layouts.
• Clean the front glass with a microfiber cloth.
• Varifocal: adjust zoom/focus rings while watching live view.
• Fixed-focus that went soft (heat/cold bump): call us to refocus and lock.
Call us for: admin resets, multi-camera outages, exports that won’t play, or tidy relocations with sealed penetrations and verified focus/aim.
